MZRevolved™ Mazdaspeed

cp-e has extensive experience modifying the 2.3L L3-VDT motor from the Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6. We offer a plethora of exhaust, intake, and turbo options for any power level. But once you’ve made the big power, you have to find a way to keep that power safe and reliable. To do this, we’ve created the MZRevolved™ line of staged motor packages.

Just like our other products, these motors are available in a variety of configurations to suit any power goals that you can dream. From the reliable and extremely daily drivable Stage 1 to the full on race (but still dailyable) Stage 3, we’ve got a solution for you. All of our motors in the program start life as a stock Mazda 2.3L and then we add our highly sought after rods and pistons and custom machine the motors to perfection. Every block is blueprinted and you won’t find any “drop-in” internals here. These motors are built for the long run.

Stage 1

Custom Performance Engineering developed the Stage I MZR 2.3L Short block as the affordable solution for higher boost applications. This is a perfect setup for anyone wanting to run a more aggressive setup without a heavy investment. Whether you are looking for a quicker street car or more competitive yet lower budget weekend track racer – this is the solution for power, reliability and a peace of mind.

All cp-e™ MZR blocks are precision machined to our spec and hand assembled with utmost care and attention. Each block is carefully blueprinted, balanced and assigned a unique serial number. All specs are carefully tracked and verified throughout the build. Stage I blocks feature factory size bores with precision honed factory sleeves. The short block features our Manley H-Beam pistons and Stage 1 Pistons. ARP main studs are included. We use performance main bearings. Our Tri-Metal rod bearings are specially coated with a Teflon based coating offering reduced friction and wear.

Each motor comes with full documentation and a spec sheet. A full engine gasket set and ARP head studs are available as well.

Stage 2

The cp-e™ Stage II short block was specifically designed for bullet proof performance. This is the balanced option; stronger than Stage I yet within the factory 2.3L constraints, unlike the extreme Stage III. This is a setup geared towards track racers needing utmost reliability, and those wanting to push the car to its limits.

Stage II block features a factory size bore with ductile iron sleeves. The MZRblocks are precision machined to accept the new sleeves, sleeves are pressed in, then the assembly is machined to proper deck height to ensure a tight sealing surface between the block and cylinder head. The short block features our Manley H-Beam rods and MagnumDI Pistons. ARP main studs are included. We use performance main bearings. Our Tri-Metal rod bearings are specially coated with a Teflon based coating offering reduced friction and wear.

Stage 3

The Stage III short block is the ultimate setup for high horsepower performance and reliability. This will take whatever you throw at it. The larger bore allows for more low-end torque, the ductile iron sleeves are strong and ensure the best in reliability, the cp-e™ Stage III pistons are one of a kind, designed specifically for this application. This is the ultimate MZR short block.

Stage III block is bored out to 2.4L spec with ductile iron sleeves. The MZRblocks are precision machined to accept the new sleeves, sleeves are pressed in, and then the assembly is machined to proper deck height to ensure a tight sealing surface between the block and cylinder head. The Stage III short block comes with cp-e™ state-of-the-art Stage III pistons, all assembled with Manley I-Beam rods. ARP main studs are included. We use performance main bearings. Our Tri-Metal rod bearings are specially coated with a Teflon based coating offering reduced friction and wear.
