Mazdaspeed3 Driver Side Motor Mount
It is finally time to get the power to the wheels! cp-e™ is proud to release the driver side engine mount for Mazdaspeed3 gen1 and gen2. Our side mounts have been a long time in the making. We have been testing the cp-e™ side mounts for more than 8 months on numerous cars including i-Moto Racing’s grand am series Mazdaspeed3s. We are confident that these will be the last side mounts you will ever need.
The driver side engine mount brackets are made from 1/4” mild steel that is laser cut for precise fitment. The bushing housing is CNC machined from a solid block of aluminum. And like our rear motor mounts these bushings are made from rubber instead of urethane.
You have the power to choose your own durometer! We let you decide what degree of comfort vs stiffness you want to run. The 55 durometer is for the driver that is looking to get the power down to the ground without sacrificing too much comfort. The 70 durometer is more for those that drive their cars hard. No matter which durometer you chose the engine will have noticeably less movement from stock.
Say goodbye to wheel hop and torque steer when you combine this with our passenger side mount and already popular rear motor mount.
EDPM Bushing
Unlike nearly all other engine mount manufacturers, we use EPDM for our bushings. This provides much more vibration resistance when compared to polyurethane. This material is also extremely resilient and is able to stretch and even develop small cracks without affecting its structural integrity. EPDM is much more expensive to produce, but it is a far superior bushing material.
Pressed Center Insert
Our metal inserts are physically pressed into our EPDM bushings. This allows the bushing material and the metal to have a perfect connection without any gap. Other manufacturers cut their material out to fit, leaving small tolerances where the metal can still vibrate. Our construction allows the EDPM to absorb the vibrations and allows the metal inserts to smoothly move with the EDPM.

I purchased this and installed this with ease. Very bug difference than the stock mounts. This has held up perfectly under the -60 temperatures in Fairbanks AK driving at 60 mph. These have been of the most efficient and cost effective additions to my car yet. I love the silver finish on this piece as well.

I installed this to replace another brands upgraded mount. The other brand created way too much NVH for a daily driver.
I deleted the balance shafts in my car, so it already had increased NVH with OE mounts. I’ve found the 55 durometer bushing to be a very good compromise between performance and comfort.
Torque steer is significantly decreased. The car is smoother over bumps and undulations because the weight of the engine is better controlled.
There is a bit more vibration than stock, and the rear view mirror is shaky, particularly between 2 and 3000 rpms. It smooths out just over 3000 rpms and the passenger compartment is much much quieter than it was with the other aftermarket brand I tried (which I likened to driving inside a blender).
As far as negatives:
I don’t love the idea of using red loctite (per the directions) on the bolts holding the mount to the transmission. That will make removal challenging.
My particular mount was missing 2 half-inch flat washers…not a huge deal but a little annoying at this price point.
It also seems at this price, the bushing should already be bolted to the lower mount when it arrives, again…not a big deal.
Overall, I’m very happy with the product and would buy again.
