Mustang EcoBoost FMIC
After months of engineering and development, cp-e® is proud to release the Mustang EcoBoost FMIC. We took what worked with our initial FMIC and pushed the envelope even further for the most powerful high horsepower builds. With several sponsored EcoBoost Mustangs outrunning V8's with forced induction at the track, we knew that we needed to step up our cooling for the high power builds.
Due to the massive size, this core requires that the active grille shutters are removed. This is completely reversible and does not require permanent modification to the vehicle.
Mustang EcoBoost FMIC Features
- 21"x17"x3.75" Core Size
- Low Turbulence End Tank Design
- Minimal Pressure Drop
- Maximized Core Design
- Substantially Lower & More Consistent Charge Temps
- Bolt-in Design, No Vehicle Modification Needed
- Fully Cast End-Tanks

cp-e® started off by determining the maximum size core that could fit without irreversible modification to the vehicle. Our Mustang EcoBoost FMIC uses the bar and plate design to help ensure a high level of efficiency.
cp-e® then set their sights on designing the perfect EcoBoost FMIC endtanks, developing a design that not only encloses the monstrous core, but also requires no cutting, no drilling, and no permanent modification to the vehicle. With the laser cut brackets, the intercooler will mount in the stock location while matching up to the stock intercooler piping. Customers can now upgrade their piping when their power demands need it and modify in smaller increments.
Ecostang FMIC Construction
As always, the cp-e® intercooler includes cast endtanks that are welded and pressure tested with the core. What sets these endtanks from the rest is the engineering behind their shape and internal design. Hours of design and computer flow diagrams have been put into the tanks' design to virtually eliminate turbulence within them. Many times, upgrading an intercooler causes increased turbo-lag, and an overall pressure loss. This is because of the large size of the core and the turbulence within the endtanks. By designing the endtanks to be smaller, and more efficient cp-e® has found a way to minimalize turbulence in order to keep the drivability of the car high, while still enlarging the intercooler drastically.
The internal design of the endtanks directs the air to bring the most optimal airflow as well as an even distribution throughout the core. In intercoolers, the back half of the core only does 25% of the cooling. The endtanks have been designed to direct the air properly into the core for the most even cooling, giving the vehicle the most consistent conditions going into the engine.
Mustang EcoBoost FMIC Highlights

Turbulence Reduction Fins
When creating an intercooler, the goal is to maximize size, while not increasing pressure drop. Larger cores almost always exhibit some form of pressure drop, due to the massive turbulence in a large core. cp-e® has engineered a way around this by adding our carefully calculated turbulence reduction fins to smooth out the airflow from the end tanks to the main core. In the real world this translates to extraordinarily low pressure drop and no loss in spool times.
Fully Cast Endtanks
When durability and high horsepower are the main goals, nothing beats casting. Cut and weld sections just don't have close to the reliability of a cast piece. The problem is that casting is too expensive and out of reach for many manufacturers. With the ultimate product as our end goal, we only accept fully cast end tanks for all of our front mount intercoolers.
Massive Core Size
The EcoBoost platform has seen some incredible power gains in a very short period of time. With this in mind, we wanted to create a very large intercooler that would support both stock and big turbo applications. Even with this large size, no modification or removal of stock parts are needed. This combined with our fin design makes this intercooler the best choice out there for both stock and big turbo upgrades.cp-e® is excited to release the ultimate in cold side pipes! cp-e® now offers the last Mustang EcoBoost BOV upgrade you will need. With the option between arguably the two most popular BOVs in the turbocharger community, you can now truly get rid of your stock BPV and attain the sound, reliability, and beauty of a Tial Sport BOV or HKS SSQV BOV. Methanol port included in the ideal location, 6" from the throttle body.
Adding an aftermarket blow off valve to your Mustang EcoBoost gives you that turbo sound while improving reliability. It's hard not to smile when you hear that characteristic "whoosh" after each shift.
This Mustang EcoBoost HKS BOV kit has just been re-engineered to include a 1/8" NPT meth bung to add methanol injection quickly and easily!
*BOV sold separately.
Mustang EcoBoost HKS BOV
Your most difficult decision in life comes to choosing between either the Tial Sport BOV or the HKS SSQV. The first option, a Tial Sport BOV, leaves out no detail, and is one of the most reliable BOVs on the market. Made in the USA on a CNC machine out of billet aluminum, the Tial BOV is beautiful in each color that it comes in. Tial has also done a great job in designing a BOV that is great for all boost levels through all stages of modifying your car. It comes with a sound that is loud, powerful, and able to tell people what you have under the hood, yet it's not obnoxious like some BOVs in the market.
The other option is the HKS SSQV; probably the most common and well known BOV sound in the turbocharger community. No longer will that guy you just beat in a race wonder why he lost. This BOV is loud, powerful, and demanding. You can even customize the sound by switching the inserts until you find the one that is music to your ears!
Mustang EcoBoost HKS BOV Options
Whether you choose the HKS or a Tial option, the pipe will come with a CNC made aluminum flange welded on to ensure the best and easiest fitment of the BOV. The BOV kit will come with everything needed for an easy bolt-in installation from the vacuum.
Note: We cannot guarantee fitment with the use of any product that moves the location of the intercooler outlet or throttle body. This includes but is not limited to throttle body spacers, port injection spacers, and aftermarket intake manifolds.
Mustang EcoBoost Hot-Side Pipe
cp-e® is excited to release their Mustang EcoBoost Hot-Side Charge Pipe. This version is to be used along with the Exhale BOV kit.
Setting out to replace the stock pipe, cp-e has not only managed to design an upgrade solution with an aluminum pipe. In addition our solution has a 2.50" diameter pipe! Pushing the space to the max, cp-e wanted to bring the community the last Mustang EcoBoost Hot-Side Charge Pipe they will need through all of their modifications.
This mandrel bent aluminum pipe supplies you with the volume, and the free flow that you need through all your modification goals and allows you to reach those goals in the path that YOU decide on. Being designed in CAD, CNC mandrel bent, and having laser cut aluminum brackets, you can be sure that you are buying a pipe that not only fits, but fits as well as stock.
Mustang EcoBoost Hot-Side Pipe Construction
cp-e® has made the pipe with to provide the best flow possible. All the while still having flexibility built in to move with the engine. To top it off, cp-e also supplies the necessary 4-ply silicone hoses and T-Bolt clamps to secure it. Finally, this part will fit the stock intercooler or the cp-e® ∆Core Front Mount Intercooler!
Just a hot side pipe replacement not enough? Check out the BOV Upgrade Kit, and our Cold Side Pipe Upgrade Kit too!
